Theresa Troise Heidel
a life long New Jersey resident was recently named one of twenty emerging artists in USA, Canada and Europe by Watercolor magazine in their fall 2006 issue. Her watercolors have been featured in numerous New Jersey magazines and publications including To the Shore Once More, Volumes I and II and the Long Beach Island Rhapsody. Primarily painted on location, Theresa’s watercolors reflect a love of architecture and a clear understanding of light and atmosphere.
Theresa just returned from an artist in residence on the Queen Mary 2 voyage to Norway this past June. She is also an elected member of New Jersey Watercolor Society, 2006 and to Marquis Who’s Who in American Art, 2007 and invited into the Art Instructor Program, Jack Richeson & Co., Kimberly WI 2007. Awards include The Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Award, New Jersey Watercolor Society Annual Juried Exhibition, Monmouth Museum, Lincroft, NJ and The Mary La Greca Memorial Award, The Hudson Valley Art Association national Juried Exhibition, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.
Theresa is a graduate of St. Peter’s College in Jersey City, New Jersey and undertook postgraduate studies at the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Florence, Italy. She also studied under Ferinand Petrie at the Ridgewood Art Institute in Ridgewood, New Jersey, where she later taught watercolor painting.
Exhibitions include the Allan Stone Gallery, The National Arts Club, The Pen and Brush Club and The Salmagundi Club all in New York City and recently at the Lakeshore Gallery, Bolton Landing, NY.
Theresa’s paintings are included in numerous collections including Latham and Watkins International Law Firm, TD Waterhouse Brokerage Firm, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, the Salvation Army, Asbury Park NJ, the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office, the Ridgewood Art Institute, Ridgewood, NJ and the Hamilton House Museum, Clifton, NJ.
