The Moneighs™
Artwork by famous racehorses. Sales to benefit ReRun Inc. . |

|
| |
ReRun was founded in 1996 in Kentucky as a non-profit 501 © 3 Thoroughbred adoption program and has chapters in Kentucky, New York and New Jersey. ReRun pioneered the concept that Thoroughbred horses do not have to be retired when their racing days are over but can go on to productive second careers. Their mission is to help ex-racehorses find a second career through rehabilitation and training, then to place them in good adoptive homes.
The word “Moneigh” ™ was selected to be the title of the masterpieces and it is trademarked by ReRun. The paintings are created by encouraging the horses to dip their muzzles into a palette of paints and then to “smoosh” around on the paper. Some horses will hold a paintbrush while others use their wickers and or tails. ReRun tries to get the artist to “sign” his/her work by stamping it with a hoof print and also tries to get a lock of mane or tail to include in the painting. Some of the most famous artists included Cigar, Smarty Jones, John Henry and Kona Gold. |
